Freelance Automation & AI Builder

Smooth Media is an agency built for knowledge creators — those who educate and inspire their audiences through thoughtful, insightful content. We help them grow sustainable, long-term businesses, and help brands plug into this world in a way that's smart, strategic, and impactful.

We've put real work into building internal systems that are efficient and modern — and we're not done. We have a running list of projects and ideas to make us even faster, smarter, and better, and we need someone to help us build them.

We're starting project-based, but if the fit is there on both sides, we'd love to grow this into something bigger.

What you'll do:

  • Map and automate internal workflows — understand how we operate and build automations in that remove manual, repetitive work across our team

  • Connect our tools — we run on Notion and Airtable; your job is to improve how they’re all talking to each other and to the rest of our stack

  • Build AI-powered workflows — integrate Claude or other LLM APIs into our processes to help us move faster

  • Ship fast, iterate faster — we're not looking for perfect; we're looking for useful. Build things we can test, learn from, and improve

  • Document what you build — leave us with systems we can understand, maintain, and build on

What we're looking for:

  • You've built automations before

  • You know Notion and Airtable well

  • You're comfortable with AI APIs — you've worked with Claude, OpenAI, or similar APIs and know how to build useful, practical integrations

  • You communicate clearly — this is async-friendly work, but you'll need to write clearly, flag blockers early, and check in regularly

What we can offer:

  • Competitive project-based or hourly rate, depending on scope

  • A team that's bought in — we want this to work and will give you the context and access you need

  • Building internal tech + processes used by our team and roster of 60+ leading tech creators

  • Potential for an ongoing relationship as we continue to build
