Content Strategist

Smooth Media is an agency built for knowledge creators — the people teaching, explaining, and bringing clarity to the world through smart, insightful content. We help them build sustainable, long-term businesses — and we help brands tap into this world in a way that’s strategic, thoughtful, and impactful.

We’re looking for a Content Strategist to work closely with some of the smartest creators in the business/tech/knowledge space. You’ll help shape their content direction, support their growth, and be a trusted partner as they navigate new opportunities. You’re the person they’ll call when they want to refine an idea, evaluate a new project, or think bigger about where their content can go.

You’ll also play a key role in bringing new creators into the Smooth ecosystem and helping them set the foundation for their long-term success.

This is a high-impact, external-facing role for someone who understands storytelling, content, and audience — but also loves the operational side of helping a creator’s business run smoothly. You think strategically, move quickly, and genuinely enjoy supporting creative people.

What you'll do:

  • Guide creator strategy — help creators refine their positioning, content direction, and growth roadmap

  • Build strong creator relationships — act as a strategic partner who supports them across creative, operational, and business moments

  • Collaborate cross-functionally — work closely with Brand Partnerships to execute brand campaigns with the creators you support

  • Help onboard new creators — identify talent that aligns with Smooth’s thesis and help set them up for success

  • Spot growth opportunities — new formats, new channels, events, partnerships — you’ll help creators think bigger and smarter

  • Represent Smooth externally — communicate with creators and partners clearly and professionally

What we're looking for:

  • 4+ years of experience in content, partnerships, editorial, media, or creator-facing work

  • You get people. You’re a natural relationship-builder who thrives on trust, communication, and helping others succeed

  • You’re organized and proactive. You can juggle multiple projects without losing the thread

  • You care about quality. Whether it’s refining a content idea or writing a clean email, you take pride in doing things well

  • You understand media/creators. You follow content trends, platforms, and know what makes audiences stick

  • Based in NYC or open to being in NYC (our team is in-office Mon–Thurs)
