Multimedia Producer, Energy Central
Energy Central, a media company that empowers, engages, and educates utility and power professionals, is growing our content & community team with the addition of a multimedia producer.
This team leader will be responsible for ideating, producing, managing, and upleveling Energy Central’s growing portfolio of multimedia shows.
What you'll do:
Lead Energy Central’s multimedia strategy across YouTube, podcasts, interviews, and short-form.
You’ll build and manage a team of top-tier talent, editors, thumbnail designers, and contributors dedicated to growing Energy Central’s multimedia presence, particularly on YouTube + Spotify
You’ll lead all multimedia content for Energy Central’s Content & Community team, working with our newsletter, sales, and ops teams to ensure every video, essay, interview, etc. we publish meets a high standard.
You’ll help refine and implement Energy Central’s voice and visual identity—one that’s friendly, intelligent, curious, and optimistic—across multimedia content on YouTube, listening platforms, and social media.
You’ll own YouTube performance and packaging—thumbnails, titles, hooks, pacing, retention, analytics, optimization.
You’ll develop repeatable video formats and franchises that scale and reflect our brand.
What we're looking for:
A sharp visual storyteller who knows how to take complex, technical ideas and turn them into videos people actually want to watch. You think in narrative arcs, hooks, moments of tension, reveals, and clarity. You understand how strong thumbnails, titles, intros, pacing, and editing rhythm drive watch time. You study retention curves. You know how to open a video, when to deploy a cold hook, and how to keep viewers engaged all the way through.
An energy wonk who loves to learn, talk, and think about the future of electric power (we’re looking for someone with a strong eye for curation of what really matters). Or, if you don’t come from the energy world, you’re someone with strong video-journalism instincts who knows how to make complex topics feel interesting, clear, and human. Experience working in niche or technical industries is a plus.
Someone with 3–5 years of experience in digital media, production, visual journalism, or related fields with excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and organization (experience with copy editing is a plus)
Down with a little ambiguity and white space—we’re building something big, and we’re all about bringing creativity to the process
What we can offer:
Competitive compensation
Health, dental, and vision insurance
Unlimited PTO (mandatory 10 days per year minimum)
Strong opportunity for growth at profitable, bootstrapped startup
