Smooth Media is looking for a newsletter editor to join our team. Our mission at Smooth is to help creators operate and scale their businesses, and a key pillar of that is ideating, launching and publishing newsletters.
In this position, you’ll be responsible for leading the newsletters we operate.
What you'll do:
- Collaborate with writers to review pitches and edit their work with a specific eye for clarity, accuracy, and voice
- Provide thoughtful analysis to guide the newsletter’s editorial strategy and brainstorm creative initiatives to keep the publication and team nimble
- Own the niche of your newsletter—we operate newsletters in several different content areas and understanding the space you cover is key
- Attend regular meetings with the newsletter’s broader team and manage the newsletter’s day to day operations
What we're looking for:
- Professional writing experience, newsletter experience preferred
- Editorial leadership and willingness to own projects
- Significant attention to detail
- Based in NYC
